2 Trees As High As 5 Meters Fell In Cilandak, The Fire Team Has Evacuated

JAKARTA - Two five-meter-tall trees in Cilandak, South Jakarta were uprooted after heavy rains accompanied by strong winds hit DKI Jakarta.

Head of the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-department, Herbert Plider said the incident occurred on Jalan Cilandak KKO, in front of the church, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Sunday, May 15, at 15.50 WIB.

"The type of Manohi tree with a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 5 meters fell," Herbert said when confirmed, Sunday, May 15.

Herbert explained that the incident began when heavy rain and wind occurred at 15.00 WIB. This caused two trees to fall due to the strong wind.

He also confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. It's just that the traffic is blocked.

"The mahogany tree in the vicinity of Jalan Cilandak KKO fell due to strong winds blocking traffic on Jalan Cilandak KKO," he said.

After that, firefighters were dispatched to evacuate the fallen tree. At 15.20 WIB, the evacuation process began and 15.50 WIB was declared complete.

"The deployment of units and personnel, a light rescue unit and two iron horses. Handling uses a chainsaw," he concluded.
