PALANGKA RAYA - The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government continues to improve the early warning system (SDK) as an effort to anticipate the spread of acute hepatitis cases.
"We continue to improve the SDK, although so far, no cases of hepatitis have been detected," said Head of the Central Kalimantan Health Service, Suyuti Syamsul, in Palangka Raya, Tuesday, May 10.
For that, he asked the ranks of the health office, including health facilities in various areas in Central Kalimantan to be proactive and immediately report if they found cases of hepatitis.
In addition, the public is also asked to check with the nearest health facility if they find symptoms of hepatitis, such as yellow eyes, to dark brown urine.
"Because the transmission is not yet clearly known, the public is advised to implement clean living behaviors, including washing hands before handling food," he said, quoted by Antara.

The application of a clean and healthy lifestyle is still one of the important steps for the community to avoid the transmission of various diseases. Therefore, the ranks of the health department in Central Kalimantan constantly remind and urge the public to always apply a clean and healthy lifestyle, both at home as well as when working outside.
He further explained that hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E are endemic in Central Kalimantan, although occasionally they become extraordinary events (KLB), especially Hepatitis A. It's just until now, there is no increase in hepatitis cases significantly and meets the requirements of KLB.
"But routinely there are cases reported by health facilities," said Suyuti.
He said the hepatitis which has been widely discussed recently has no known cause, and is thought to be caused by an adenovirus, but in terms of symptoms, it is the same as other hepatitis.
"Adenovirus is not known to cause hepatitis, so it is still referred to as unknown hepatitis," said Suyuti Syamsul.
