Shophouse In Makassar Fires, Needs 22 Fire Cars To Put Out The Fire

MAKASSAR - The Fire Department deployed 22 fire engines to tackle the shophouse fire in the Jalan Sulawesi area, Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Wednesday, April 20.

"The fire fighting fleet has been dispatched, including Ujung Tanah Care Emergency Center also to extinguish the fire on the top floor", said Head of the Makassar City Fire Department, Hasanuddin, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the office received information about a fire in a shophouse building being renovated in the Sulawesi Street area at 11.14 WITA.

After receiving the report regarding the incident, the service dispatched officers and fire engines to the location of the shophouse opposite the Container Port managed by PT Pelindo Regional 4 in Makassar.

Residents in the vicinity of the fire incident reported to the office after seeing fire and smoke billowing from the top and back of the shophouse building.

We, who were not far from the location, immediately reported and called the Makassar Fire Department", said Syerli, a resident who lives in the Sulawesi Street area.

The Platoon Commander of the Makassar Fire Service, Akbar, said that the fire did not result in any casualties.

According to him, the police are still investigating the cause of the burning shop building on Sulawesi Street.
