SUMSEL - The Government of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra (South Sumatra), disbursed grant funds for religious organizations in the region in 2022 amounting to IDR 1.2 billion.

"The value of the prepared grant is IDR 1.2 billion," said the Head of the Welfare Section of the Regional Secretariat Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), Kadarisman in Baturaja, Thursday, April 14, citing Antara.

He explained that the local government prepared the aid funds for 57 grant objects such as mosques and prayer rooms, monasteries, churches, Islamic boarding schools and other religious organizations in OKU Regency.

Each object of the grant will receive assistance funds ranging from Rp. 8,000,000 to Rp. 120,000,000 per year.

Currently, the disbursement of grant funds sourced from the OKU Regency APBD is still in the administrative process stage and is predicted to start being distributed in the period of May 2022.

The mechanism for providing grant assistance must be properly understood by all religious institutions so that the assistance provided is channeled correctly and on target.

This is done, so that there are no mistakes and misuse that ultimately result in losses for all parties. "For this reason, it is hoped that these funds can later be used properly and not misused for personal interests," he said.
