Deploying Hundreds Of Personnel, East Nusa Tenggara Police: Let's Give Security Guarantees For Residents Who Carry Out Worship

KUPANG - A total of 924 police personnel in the jurisdiction of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police (Polda) were deployed to maintain security in a series of Easter 2022 celebrations in the island-based province.

"This number is a combination of the Resort Police and personnel from the NTT Polda," said NTT Regional Police Karoops Commissioner Ulami Sudjaja in Kupang, reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 12.

He detailed that the number consisted of 754 personnel from all Polres in the NTT region and the remaining 170 personnel from the NTT Police.

Ulami Sudjaja said that the security for Easter 2022 is to create a conducive situation for Kamtibmas and Kamseltibcar so that Christians can celebrate Easter with a sense of security, comfort and health in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Let's give security guarantees to residents who carry out worship. Hopefully, during the Samana Santa Turangga 2022 activity, everything will run safely and under control," said Karoops Polda NTT while leading the Easter security apple.

Karoops also expects the personnel involved in the operation to actually carry out their duties with a full sense of responsibility.

"So on Wednesday, the colleagues who were in the Semana Santa Operation had shifted to the Kupang City Police Station under the control of the Head of the National Police Headquarters to carry out security services in their respective churches," he added.

For the NTT Police Mobile Brigade unit, he said, he would be used as a backup force if something unexpected happened, it would be shifted to help with security.

"Increase vigilance against groups that can or want to disturb the people who carry out the Easter service and do not let there be the slightest disturbance, so that people who carry out worship feel safe and comfortable," he ordered.

It is known that the Implementation of Operation Semana Santa Turangga 2022 in the context of securing this 2022 Easter Celebration for 12 days starting from April 8 to 19, 2022 in all areas of the province of NTT.

"It is hoped that during the implementation of Operation Semana Santa it will be carried out as much as possible so that the Easter Worship can run safely and comfortably," he hoped.

In addition, Karoops also expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the Safe Nusa Operation which will end on April 13, 2022. This will be continued with improved routine activities.
