Make Sure The Video Of Stopping The Student Bus Is A Hoax, The Lampung Police: Don't Be Easily Provoked

JAKARTA - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) confirmed that the video circulating regarding the stop of a bus that was suspected of transporting students to protest in Jakarta was a hoax.

"So there is a viral video, the bus carrying students to protest was stopped at the Bahauheni Port is a hoax," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, quoted by Antara, Sunday 10 April.

He said that he had confirmed with the South Lampung Police Chief and it was certain that the broadcast was not true and asked the public, especially students in Lampung, not to be easily provoked.

His party will also carry out investigations and investigations against perpetrators of hoax video spreaders by applying criminal sanctions for perpetrators who create and spread hoax news according to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning ITE Article 28 with a penalty of six years and a fine of Rp. 1 billion.

"Those who spread and make hoax news will be subject to the ITE Law," he said.

Pandra also appealed that any information obtained by the public should be checked first for its veracity before being disseminated.

"So basically the video that is circulating viral in cyberspace is a hoax and is an old show about blocking the flow of Lebaran homecoming in 2020-2021 at JTTS Kalianda, South Lampung. Let's create a peaceful life in Lampung, so that we can carry out fasting worship smoothly, " he said.

Previously, a status circulating on social media accompanied by a bus that was suspected of transporting students to take part in a demonstration in Jakarta was stopped while at Bakauheni Harbor, South Lamung.
