Ministry Of Transportation Prepares 350 Free Homecoming Buses

SOLO - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has prepared 350 free homecoming buses for people who want to celebrate Eid in their hometown.

Secretary of the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Marta Hardisarwono on the sidelines of his visit at Terminal Type A Tirtonadi Surakarta said that the 350 buses prepared could accommodate up to 10,500 passengers.

"The details are 270 buses for 8,500 passengers going home and 80 buses for 2,400 passengers returning," said Marta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 7.

In addition to providing free homecoming buses, his party also provides trucks to transport motorbikes. He said the 34 trucks provided were to transport 1,200 two-wheeled vehicles for the homecomers.

"After two absences, public interest for going home is quite high this Eid. Therefore, we have prepared free homecoming transportation to anticipate congestion on the road, including by preparing a special fleet to transport two-wheeled vehicles that are included in the homecoming," he said.

Until now, his party is still conducting socialization and coordination with large companies regarding the provision of fleets for free homecoming.

"In the past there was PT Air Mancur, herbalists came home. Like Honda used to provide buses for free going home. We are coordinating this with businessmen. Moreover, some are afraid of a new cluster, this is something we have to be careful about," he said.

Related to this, Member of Commission V of the DPR RI, Sudjadi, hopes that the government can increase the number of free homecoming fleets this Eid.

"The request to increase the number of free homecoming fleets is natural. Everything is free if it's free, it's happy, if it is added the people will be happier," he said.
