JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Metro Jaya Police has prepared escort and traffic arrangements during the state visit of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, to Jakarta on August 3-4, 2026.

Head of Training and Operations of the Traffic Police, Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Robby Hefados said personnel had been alerted to provide escort and traffic management to ensure the smooth running of the series of activities for the state guests.

"Officers in the field will provide escort and temporary traffic arrangements on several sections of Jakarta's protocol roads," said Robby as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 3.

Robby said that traffic arrangements were made as an effort to maintain the smooth travel of the entourage while paying tribute to the state guests.

He explained that traffic engineering was only implemented on a situational basis when the motorcade of state guests passed through so that it did not last all day.

A number of roads that will be used by the entourage, including Halim Perdanakusuma Road, MT Haryono Road, General Sudirman Road, MH Thamrin Road, West Medan Merdeka Road, Gatot Subroto Road, Youth Gate Road, Asia Africa Road, Sisingamangarajadan Road and Trunojoyo Road.

Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public who will cross the area to arrange their travel time early or choose an alternative route to avoid potential traffic congestion when the group passes.

Meanwhile, based on an official statement uploaded on the Kingdom of Thailand's website, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation departed from Bangkok to Jakarta on Monday afternoon local time.

In the statement, it was stated that PM Anutin and his delegation departed from Military Airport 2, Wing 6 Don Mueang, Bangkok, to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, to make an official visit to Indonesia on August 3-4, 2026, including meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
