Traders In West Aceh Are Prohibited From Selling At 05.00-15.30 During Ramadan, Whip Punishment Awaits If They Violate

ACEH - The West Aceh District Government together with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkompimda) forbade every trader in the area from selling from 05.00 in the morning to 15.30 western Indonesia time in the afternoon during the holy month of Ramadhan this year.

"The ban on selling food and drinks from dawn to dusk today is part of the long-standing application of Islamic law in Aceh," said the Head of the Civil Service and Wilayatul Hisbah Police Unit, West Aceh Regency, Azim in Meulaboh, Antara, Sunday, April 3.

He explained, if there are traders who are found to have violated these provisions, then the perpetrators can be charged with violating the rules of Islamic law in force in Aceh, including the possibility of being lashed in public.

Not only that said Azim, in a joint appeal that was issued by the local government together with Forkompimda, it also prohibited all traders/stalls located along the tourist coast in Meulaboh, West Aceh, from opening their businesses during the day or at night.

Especially for the owners of stalls, restaurants, and restaurants as well as other trading businesses, they are also not allowed to open their businesses from the start of the evening prayer until the completion of the tarawih prayer at the mosque.

In addition to food and beverage businesses, he said, the West Aceh Forkompimda also forbade every salon and internet cafe to open a business at night.

"Especially for hoteliers, cafeterias, and billiards businesses are also prohibited from holding billiards, karaoke, and other entertainment during the holy month of Ramadan, to maintain the comfort of worship," said Azim.
