MADIUN - The Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP) of Madiun City ensures that food supplies and stocks in Madiun City, East Java are monitored safely when entering Ramadan.

Madiun City DKPP Young Expert Market Analyst, Victarianus Besar Puji Wulantara said the level of food consumption would increase during the month of Ramadan.

Victar said the monitoring of basic commodities was carried out to ensure the availability of goods on the market ahead of Ramadan 1443 Hijri.

"As for rice, I think it's stable. The ones that fluctuate are usually horticultural commodities such as chili, then cut chicken meat, beef, and chicken eggs," he said.

In addition, price increases are also starting to be seen in granulated sugar. Likewise, packaged cooking oil is still high.

Because stocks and prices on the market tend to be controlled, he appealed to the public not to worry. Moreover, to do "panic buying".

Victar also asked traders to maintain the quality and quantity of basic necessities. In particular, horticultural products that cannot be stored for a long time.

"We convey to traders to provide stock for at least the next week so that the goods are always fresh and not damaged when purchased by buyers," he said.
