JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Police Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi has checked the readiness of the Lebaran homecoming and return routes on the Cikampek Toll Road.

"Physical preparations for toll roads, in particular and arterial roads, we are working on again after this, to ensure that later we will prepare ways of acting to serve the people who are going home," said Firman in a written statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.

A number of points were checked, namely Km 45, Km 47, Km 69, and Km 70 of the Cikampek Toll Road.

According to Firman, the review is to physically prepare the toll road that will be passed by travelers. In that case, of course, the Korlantas Polri will coordinate with Jasa Marga to deal with the flow of going back and forth for Lebaran.

Firman said that based on an initial analysis of the flow and volume at the time of going home, the total volume of vehicles on toll roads and arteries is expected to be quite high. However, the Korlantas Polri will continue to monitor future developments.

"So later we will all work based on the situation on the ground. We will prepare steps to anticipate the high flow of going home, such as management of increasing road capacity, namely adding lanes to be used," said Firman.

Later on, at Km 45, Km 47, Km 69, and Km 70 of the Cikampek Toll Road, a contraflow scheme will be carried out, even one way if there is a long traffic jam during homecoming and Lebaran backflow. Currently, a number of preparations are still being promoted.

"Once again, to increase the capacity of the volume of roads to be traversed, but these are just preparations for entry and exit, how the arrangements are made at toll gates, we will check everything," he said.

Not only Km 45-70, the South Cikampek Toll Road (Entrance Sadang) was also checked. This route is expected to reduce travel time from Jakarta to Cikampek from the south side if it is fully operational.

"We really hope that this preparation will be done from all aspects, the road infrastructure facilities, then the officers we will place, and more importantly the people we will serve later to work together with what we have to implement for the smooth flow of going back and forth," said the Word.
