Two Kilometers Through Defense Of Ukrainian Airborne Brigade, Russian Troops Reach Novoselovka's Southern Outskirts

JAKARTA - The Russian Defense Ministry claims to have penetrated the defenses of Ukrainian troops, to take control of the outskirts of one of the cities, in the war due to the invasion that has been going on for more than a month.

Russian troops reached the southern outskirts of Novoselovka during the attack, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said Monday.

"A grouping of troops of the Russian Armed Forces continued the successful offensive, penetrating two kilometers deep into the defenses of the Ukrainian 95th Airborne Assault Brigade and reaching the southern outskirts of Novoselovka", he said, TASS reported on March 28.

Further, according to him, the units of the Lugansk People's Republic advanced 5 kilometers during the offensive, capturing the settlements of Ivanovka and Novosadovoye, as well as reaching the Terny line.

Regarding the success of his troops, Major General Konashenkov explained, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 308 drones, 1,713 tanks, and 170 multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) belonging to the enemy since the start of special military operations in Ukraine.

"A total of 308 drones, 1,713 tanks, and other armored fighting vehicles, 170 multiple rocket launchers, 715 field artillery, and mortars, as well as 1,557 units of special military vehicles, have been destroyed since the start of special military operations", he said.

The invasion, which has lasted more than a month, devastated several Ukrainian cities, caused a major humanitarian crisis, and displaced about 10 million people, almost a quarter of Ukraine's population.

The United Nations has confirmed 1,119 civilian deaths and 1,790 injuries across Ukraine but says the real number is likely to be higher. Ukraine said on Sunday 139 children had been killed and more than 205 injured so far in the conflict.
