Slightly Delayed, All Formula E Development Is Targeted To Be 100 Percent Complete On May 1

JAKARTA - The construction of the Formula E circuit in the East Ancol area, North Jakarta is still ongoing. It is targeted that the entire construction of the circuit and other facilities will be completed in early May.

This was revealed by a member of the Gerindra faction of the DPRD, Syarif when he directly inspected the location of the circuit.

"Today we are reviewing (the construction of the Formula E circuit). My estimate is that by May 1, everything will be completed, 100 percent," said Syarif when met at the location, Friday, March 25.

Based on the statement from PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), continued Syarif, the construction of the circuit was delayed by a few days due to weather constraints. Construction of the circuit itself began on February 3, 2022.

Currently, the progress of paving the electric car racing circuit from zones 1 to 5 has reached 87 percent. The workers are still working on the second layer of asphalt circuit.

"This means that the target was previously closed this month, a little bit delayed by 2 to 3 days because there was a review from the committee. Around early April it was finished," said Syarif.

After the circuit is completed, PT Jakpro will start installing the stands, paddock, and other facilities until early May 2022.

The shape of the Formula E track is said to be similar to a lumping horse. Then, the location of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit has 18 bends, 600 meters of straight track, clockwise direction, and 2.4 kilometers of track length.

After completion of construction, the circuit will be reviewed and tested by FEO as the license holder of Formula E. Until finally, Formula E will officially be held in Ancol on June 4, 2022.
