Vaccination Services Continue To Run During Ramadan 2022 In Bangka Belitung

BANGKA - The Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands continues to intensify the Covid-19 vaccination. During Ramadan 2022, vaccination services will continue to run in health care facilities.

"Vaccination will continue as usual during the holy month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri in order to maximize vaccine services to the community," said Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Belitung Health Service, Joko Sarjono in Tanjung Pandan, Friday, March 25.

According to him, COVID-19 vaccination services at a number of health care facilities such as Puskesmas and vaccination booths during the month of Ramadan will remain open to serve the community.

He said this was guided by the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Number 13 of 2021 stating that the COVID-19 vaccination carried out by intramuscular injection (injection) did not invalidate fasting.

"So the rules are still the same as the previous year, we still carry out vaccination services during the month of Ramadan," he said.

He estimates that the number of people who want to get a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine (booster) will increase, as it is stipulated as a condition for traveling back and forth on the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"Therefore, we will continue to provide vaccination services to the community," he said, as reported by Antara.

He said the realization of the COVID-19 vaccination in Belitung Regency currently reached 123.772 people from 145.010 targets (85.35 percent), the second dose was 112.480 people (77.57 percent) and the third dose was 13.392 people (10.52 percent).

"Meanwhile, the number of children aged 6-11 years who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 currently reaches 16.849 children or 102.53 percent," he said.
