Dozens Of Semi-Permanent Houses Burned Down In Kemanggisan, West Jakarta, Elderly With Shortness Of Breath Were Evacuated

JAKARTA - A number of houses in the form of semi-permanent beds located on the edge of the Kali Inspeksi Grogol, Kemanggisan Utama Street, RT 016/008, Palmerah, West Jakarta, have been devoured by the red rooster. It was later discovered that the semi-permanent bed was used as a rented plot by local residents.

"We received a report of a fire from a resident who came to the Palmerah Sector at around 21.00 western Indonesia time. After receiving the report, at around 21.06, he immediately dispatched a fire engine to the location," said Head of West Jakarta Fire Rescue Sub-dept. Sjukri Bahanan, to reporters, Friday, March 25.

Arriving at the location, the process of extinguishing was immediately carried out. A total of 70 officers from the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat) were deployed to fight the fire.

"14 units of fire engines were deployed. The fire was successfully localized at 21:35 western Indonesia time and cooling at 21:45 western Indonesia time," he said.

Meanwhile, fire fighting operations were completed at 23.00 western Indonesia time. From the results of data collection by Gulkarmat officers, the area of the burned object was about 800 square meters.

"The loss is estimated at IDR 460 million," he explained.

Separately, Palmerah Police Chief Commissioner Adjutant Dodi Abdul Rohim said, due to the fire that hit the area, three of them experienced shortness of breath.

"Three people experienced shortness of breath, two men and one woman. They are around 50 years old," said the police chief.

The three victims have been evacuated to the Pelni Hospital, West Jakarta, for treatment.

"Two residents were used as witnesses, and they are still being questioned at the Palmerah Police. The cause is still being investigated," he said.

Based on the information gathered, the fire destroyed 23 semi-permanent rented houses with 27 families. They have taken refuge in the shopping area around the fire site.
