SEMARANG - Central Java Police arrested a woman with the initials DR (53), a fraud perpetrator with the Gendam (Hypnosis that uses the power of spirits) mode using gold jewelry as a means.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Commissioner Djuhandani, said that at least five people had become victims of the fraud, the woman from Bonang, Demak Regency.

According to him, the total amount of fraudulent money obtained by the perpetrators during the period 2019 to date has reached IDR 938 million.

The amount of loss suffered by the victim, he continued, varied from IDR 20.5 million to IDR 667 million.

"The modus operandi was that the perpetrators borrowed money and then they were promised gold jewelry as a replacement, which turned out to be similar", he said in Semarang, Tuesday, March 15.

In the action, the perpetrator has also guaranteed a certificate of rice field land which turns out to be untrue

Quoted by Antara, the victims of criminal acts committed by known perpetrators are scattered in the Demak and Grobogan areas.

The police themselves are tracking the alleged involvement of other perpetrators who are said to be involved in the crime.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 378 or 372 or 379a of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement.
