JAKARTA - The electric car race track at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, has been confirmed to be built permanently and not dismantling. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional Representative Council (DPRD), Muhammad Taufik, while visiting the circuit location, in Jakarta, Sunday, March 6.
During the visit, Taufik also expressed his hope that the existence of the permanent circuit in the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol area, Pademangan District, could help bring benefits to the residents of DKI Jakarta, namely through the income of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, as one of the Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) DKI Jakarta Province.
"This road is permanent. Yes, it is permanent. And I think automotive events in Jakarta can be held here. It could be a collaboration with Ancol, after all this activity is in Ancol, there should be income too," said Taufik, on the sidelines of the visit, as reported by Antara, Sunday, March 6.

According to Taufik, the entire race track area must be built permanently because the plan is that the Formula E circuit will be the home for automotive activities in Jakarta. "This is intentionally (built) permanently, because it can be used for years. It could be up to, maybe, five times, ten times a year, in a five-year agreement," said Taufik.
Taufik also hopes that JIEC Ancol will never be empty of international automotive activities, even though there is no race schedule. That way, Taufik feels confident that there will be more and more Formula E visitors.
"I don't think it is necessary (targeting the State Civil Apparatus for ticket sales). Because people want international activities," said Taufik.
