DIY Ministry Of Religion Asks Takmir To Implement Mosque Loud Speaker Rules

YOGYAKARTA - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) asked all Takmir (mosque managers) of mosques and prayer rooms to implement the rules contained in Circular Number 5 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for Using Loudspeakers in Mosques and Prayer Rooms.

"To all Takmir of mosques and prayer rooms, and residents of DIY, we ask for their support and cooperation to socialize and implement Circular Letter Number 5 of 2022 for the sake of order and our common good", said Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of DIY, Masmin Afif, when contacted in Yogyakarta, quoted by Antara on Thursday, February 24.

According to Masmin, the SE has been distributed to all offices of the Ministry of Religion, the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), as well as mosque boards in five regencies/cities in DIY.

"This is a policy that has been taken by the minister, God willing, we at the DIY Regional Office are ready to socialize and secure it", he said.

The Regional Office of the DIY Ministry of Religion said Masmin, not only socializes but also fosters and supervises so that the rules for using loudspeakers in mosques and prayer rooms are strictly adhered to. "The application in the field takes time", he said.

Masmin hopes that no Muslim community in DIY will object to the rule. This regulation, according to him, can actually set a good example in maintaining harmony and providing comfort for other residents.

"In fact, it can show harmony and respect for other parties, including minority parties", said Masmin Afif.
