JAKARTA - The National Library (Perpusnas) of the Republic of Indonesia will temporarily close library services, from 5 to 12 September 2020.

Ahmad Masykuri, Head of the HR and Public Bureau of the National Library, said the temporary closure was carried out following four ASN employees who were infected with COVID-19.

"Starting from September 5 to 12, the onsite library service activities will be closed and will reopen on September 14 by implementing the COVID-19 health protocol," said Ahmad in a written statement, Tuesday, September 8.

Four employees who were confirmed positive, said Ahmad, are currently conducting independent isolation. "They are still in the handling and monitoring of the health team appointed by the government according to the domicile concerned," he said.

During the closing period, the building which was located on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan was sterilized by spraying a comprehensive disinfectant at the National Library service facility building.

Then, now all library service employees of the National Library will be required to undergo a swab test to detect the possibility of other employees contracting COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the National Library of Indonesia also implements a work from home (WFH) policy for all employees who have offices in the National Library service facility building.

"For the time being, activities are carried out work from home or work from home, but still pay attention to performance targets and work targets," added Ahmad.
