KSP: Moving The Capital City Is Proof That Indonesia Is Able To Make Change

JAKARTA - Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Wandy Tuturoong said the relocation of the State Capital (IKN) from Jakarta to East Kalimantan was proof that Indonesia was able to bring about change. Wandy gave an example, the construction of toll roads across Java and Sumatra, which ultimately made the public believe and be optimistic that change and progress could indeed be achieved.

"There is a saying that says seeing is believing, meaning that we become sure and believe after seeing it with our own eyes. That's where the meaning of the big transformation that is being carried out, said Wandy, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, January 30.

Previously, President Joko Widodo in the Inauguration of the ICMI Central Executive Council and the Opening of the ICMI National Working Meeting, Saturday (29/1), conveyed that moving the state capital (IKN) from Jakarta to East Kalimantan (Kaltim) was not just moving government buildings.

The transfer of IKN is an important part of change or transformation, both in the field of the environment, the workings of the economic base, technology and others. This includes higher quality health and education services, as well as a more diverse and tolerant social system.

According to Wandy, the transformation carried out through the transfer of IKN is one of the most appropriate ways. The transformation, he said, is to prepare the mindset of young leaders to be confident and able to carry on and realize the big transformation that the whole nation aspires to.

"Our future leaders at that time were already in front of us today. Those who are currently 20 to 30 years old will be at a ripe age at that time. In order for them to be ready to become leaders, our current generation must prepare its ecosystem. IKN is the showcase we need to realize an advanced Indonesia 2045. The challenge is not easy, but if we are united, we can do it," said Wandy.
