The COVID-19 Vaccination Rate In Bekasi Regency Reaches 87.5 Percent

BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, stated that the number of citizens who had been vaccinated against COVID-19 had reached 2,116,837 people or equivalent to 87.55 percent of the total vaccination target of 2,417,794 people.

"This achievement is based on reports from health facilities as of last night while placing Bekasi Regency as the area with the most total injections in West Java with 3,750,707 injections", said Deputy Spokesperson for the Bekasi District COVID-19 Task Force, Masrikoh, in Cikarang on Sunday, January 23.

The total injection of the COVID-19 vaccination is an accumulation of the first, second dose of vaccination, to the dose of antibody booster or booster vaccination.

The second dose of vaccination in Bekasi Regency has now reached 1,614,610 people or equivalent to 66.78 percent of the total COVID-19 vaccination target in that area.

"The third dose of vaccination or booster has only reached 19,260 residents. We will continue to increase our achievements through several programs that involve all relevant parties, starting from health workers, Regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda), the private sector, to the community itself", she said.

Masrikoh said the achievement of the status of being vaccinated against COVID-19 or giving the first dose resulted from several vaccinated populations with details of 16,781 health workers, 101,326 elderly, and 285,593 public officers.

"For the category of health human resources and public officers, the number of vaccination targets has exceeded. Health human resources are 157.64 percent and public officers are 191.51 percent while the elderly are 74.76 percent", she said.

Then 1,095,945 residents in the vulnerable and general categories, 279,589 teenagers, and 278,756 children.

"Overall, the second dose of vaccination per population is close to the first dose", she said.

Masrikoh said that so far the COVID-19 vaccinations in Bekasi Regency from the first to the third dose have used six different vaccine brands, dominated by the SinoVac brand vaccine, totaling 2,613,291 doses, with details of 1,538,522 for the first dose, 1,074,430 for the second dose, and 339 for the third dose.

This is followed by the Pfizer brand of vaccine, which so far has injected 549,022 doses, with details of 290,613 injections of the first dose, 252,982 of the second dose, and 5,427 of the third dose.

Then 377,941 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine1, with details of 182,231 the first dose, 193,464 the second dose, and 2,246 the third dose. Sinopharm BBIBP has injected 119,502 doses, Moderna 57,942 doses, and SinoVac-BF 32,995 doses.

"All vaccine brands are guaranteed to be safe because they have passed a series of laboratory clinical trials, received approval from the POM and halal recommendations from the Indonesian Ulema Council", she explained.

Masrikoh appealed to residents who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 to immediately go to the nearest health facility to get a vaccine injection to increase immunity to minimize the potential for contracting the Coronavirus.

She also asked the public to always follow the government's recommendations, to be disciplined in implementing strict health protocols, and not to travel outside the region and abroad if it was not urgent.
