COVID-19 Update As Of January 18: New Cases Of More Than A Thousand

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 278,927 specimens were examined with the result of 1,362 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,273,783 people and 9,564 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, January 18.

Today's recovered cases increased by 564 cases, bringing the total to 4,120,036 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 9 people and a total of 144,183 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 670 cases and a total of 872,092 cases. Followed by West Java with 292 new cases with a total of 709,983 cases. Banten has 203 new cases and a total of 133,718 cases. Then, East Java with 44 new cases and a total of 400,419 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 317 recovered cases. Followed by the Riau Islands with an increase of 100 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 35 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 33 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 67,973,358.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 9.42 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 5,132 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 177,259,377 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 120,621,088 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,344,204. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
