MAKI Asks Corn To Involve KPK In Pinangki Case Matters

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) is asked to involve the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in every exposure or case title in the case of Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari. Thus, the results and the prosecution plan can be discussed better.

This request was conveyed by the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI). MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman said this request would be submitted by writing to the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), the Republican Attorney General's Office.

"(Jampidsus) Invites the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to any exposure activities or case titles to discuss the progress of the investigation results and prosecution plans," Boyamin said in his statement, Monday, August 31.

Then, asked the KPK to provide expert advice and wiretaps. That way, later the evidence obtained can become a reference for Attorney General's investigators in case development and so on.

"Tapping from cellphone operator providers is to strengthen evidence, where only the KPK is authorized to obtain and use the results of intercepts or cell phone recordings as evidence," Boyamin explained.

The third point, Boyamin asked the Attorney General to accept the presence of the KPK in investigating the case. Because, so far it is considered that there is still a sense of reluctance over the involvement of the KPK in handling the alleged gratification case.

Finally, ask the Attorney General to accept it gracefully if the prosecutor Pinangki's case handler is taken over by the KPK.

"Willing to be taken over the handling of the aquo case if the KPK wishes it," said Boyamin.

Apart from the four points of the request, Boyamin also asked the Attorney General's office to immediately determine a person with the initials AIJ as a new suspect in the case and be accused of article 55 of the Criminal Code.

"Due to the role of AIJ, the PSM suspect is suspected of having received material and or promises in his efforts to help Joko Soegiarto Tjandra," he said.

Meanwhile, Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari has been named a suspect in the case of alleged bribery or receiving gratuities for processing a fatwa, the Supreme Court did not execute Djoko Tjandra in the Bank Bali case.
