COVID-19 Update As Of January 15: 586 Active Cases Found

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 277,856 specimens examined, 586 new active cases of COVID-19 were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,270,794 people and active cases have increased by 586 cases to 8,464 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Saturday, January 15.

Today's recovered cases increased by 464 cases, bringing the total to 4,118,164 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 4 people, bringing the total to 144,167 people.

The province with the newest cases is in Jakarta with 720 cases. With this addition, the total is 870,363 cases. Followed by West Java with 118 new cases. This brings a total of 709,515 cases.

Furthermore, Banten Province with 107 new cases with a total of 133,349 cases. Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases today is in Jakarta with an increase of 277 cases. Followed by Riau with an additional 100 cases recovered.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health also noted that the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 67,173,430.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.52 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,345 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, there are 175,645,471 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 119,424,581 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,338,222. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
