The Regional Police Reveal Prostitution Under The Guise Of A Salon In Padang

JAKARTA - The Regional Police (Polda) of West Sumatra revealed the practice of prostitution under the guise of a salon in Padang City, West Sumatra. The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Satake Bayu in Padang, Saturday, stated that this disclosure was made at Salon MS in West Padang District on Friday, January 14.

His party named a suspect with the initials RA (52) as a suspect suspected of being the provider of the salon. He said the raid was carried out by the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the West Sumatra Police after receiving reports from the public.

Officers immediately went to the location on Friday, January 14 at around 16.20 WIB and found that there were four special rooms in the salon that were used as locations for prostitution, and at that time only two rooms were being used.

The Head of the Ditreskrimum of the West Sumatra Police, Kompol Rahmat, explained that when the disclosure was found at Salon MS, there was a room that was used for the practice of prostitution.

In the first room, his party found a woman with the initials SR in a state of not wearing clothes. "We found SR with a man who we checked and then released because it is not in accordance with the Criminal Code. This man cannot be arrested unless his wife reports adultery," he said, quoted from ANTARA, January 15.

While in the second room, the officers found a woman with the initials DP who only wore underwear and there was no man in the room. The three women, namely RA, SR, and DP, were brought to the West Sumatra Regional Police for further examination and processed according to existing regulations.

Police collected a number of items of evidence from the scene of the incident, namely women's underwear, contraceptives that have been used. He said that investigators have only named one suspect, in this case, namely RA, who is suspected of being under Article 296 of the Criminal Code with a threat of imprisonment for one year and four months.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police emphasized that according to the direction of the West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra who wanted to bring West Sumatra clean from immoral practices such as prostitution, illicit trafficking of alcohol, prostitution, and other public ills. "We will continue to conduct raids on locations suspected of practicing prostitution and other public ills," he said.
