JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested North Penajam Paser Regent, Abdul Gafur Masud, while at a Jakarta mall.

"So far, the information we have received (is arrested, ed) at a mall in Jakarta", KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs, Ali Fikri, told reporters, Thursday, January 13.

It was not specified at which mall the arrest was made. However, during the arrests in Jakarta, the KPK also arrested six other people, including state civil servants (ASN) of the North Penajam Paser Regency Government and the private sector.

In addition, the KPK also arrested four others in East Kalimantan. Just like in Jakarta, those who were arrested were ASN and private parties.

Furthermore, those arrested in Kalimantan will undergo further examination at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

Previously reported, the KPK also found evidence in the form of money in the silent operation. The money is in rupiah denominations but the amount has not been detailed because it is still in the process of being counted.

The KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the arrest. The announcement of the suspects and the construction of the alleged corruption will be made through a press conference.
