KPK Finds Money In Penajam Paser Utara Regent's OTT, Amount Is Still Counting

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found a sum of money in a hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared the Regent of Penajam Paser Utara Abdul Gafur Mas'ud. This action was carried out on Wednesday, January 12.

"(Found, ed) several people and money," said Deputy Chairman of the KPK Nurul Ghufron to reporters, Thursday, January 13.

Even so, he did not reveal how much money was found. Ghufron said the team is still working.

Meanwhile, Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that seven people were arrested in Jakarta. One of them is the Regent of Penajam Paser Utara.

"The rest are also secured in East Kalimantan, which will now be taken to Jakarta after we conduct an examination at the East Kalimantan Police Headquarters," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK held an OTT in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. A number of parties were arrested by the OTT task force team.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the arrest. The announcement of the suspects will be made through a press conference.
