BANYUWANGI - The student with the initial G (13) from Licin District, Banyuwangi, East Java, had to undergo surgery to cut his thigh bone after being suspected of being a victim of bullying from his schoolmates.

Not accepting that their child was a victim of bullying, the victim's parents also reported the alleged perpetrator with the initials D to the Licin Police.

The Head of Licin Sector Police, Iptu Dalyono, confirmed that his party had received a report regarding bullying in the school environment.

The chronology took place in November 2021. At that time, the victim who was still recovering his leg due to a traffic accident took lessons at his school. The victim uses a walking aid.

"The alleged bullying occurred after school. At that time, the victim, who was still waiting to be picked up, was approached by a colleague with the initials D (suspected perpetrator). D took the victim's walking aid," said Iptu Dalyono, Wednesday, January 12.

At that time, another friend of the victim was kind enough to take the walking aid brought by D. The victim sat back down to wait for the pick-up.

"Whether on purpose or not, when the victim was sitting down, D came again by kicking the victim's broken leg," he said.

After being kicked, the victim did not feel pain. But over time his legs began to feel severe pain that made the victim groan in pain. The victim then said that his leg, which was still wrapped in a pen, had been kicked by a schoolmate.

"The victim's family then took him to the hospital and did an X-ray and the result was that the broken bone and still on the pen had an infection. Another operation had to be done and it cost around Rp. 20 million," he concluded.

The family then confirmed the truth of the incident to the school and submitted a report to the Licin Police. Previously, the police mediated so that the case could be resolved amicably, considering that the alleged perpetrator was still a minor.

"We have seated the school and the students' parents together. Through our mediation, they finally agreed to forgive each other, both verbally and in writing," he said.

However, the victim's parents still hope that their demands can be implemented by the school.

"Because perhaps, school supervision of students is still lacking, especially for students such as victims who are considered less than optimal and do not receive priority or special treatment for students who are sick," he said.

"The victim's parents hope that their child can still participate in teaching and learning activities through the online system, without having to go to school because his condition is still not possible," he added.
