BMKG Asks Residents To Be Wary Of Wind Speeds In Cirebon Reach 56 Km/Hour

CIREBON - Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Kertajati Station, Majalengka Regency, West Java, asked residents to be more vigilant with the increase in wind speed in the Cirebon area which can reach a maximum of up to 56 km per hour.

"We urge the public to be more careful about the impact that an increase in wind speed can have," said BMKG Weather Forecaster at Kertajati Station, Ahmad Faa Iziyn, in Majalengka, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, January 12.

Faiz said that the impact of the wind speed, which can reach 56 km per hour, should be paid more attention to by the public.

Because the strong winds that accompany the rain can cause trees to fall, billboards to collapse, and high sea waves in the waters north of Cirebon-Indramayu.

According to him, the increase in wind speed in the Cirebon area, which consists of Cirebon City/Regencies, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan, is caused by a significant difference in air pressure.

"Especially in the southern and northern regions of the Indonesian Equator and the cyclonic circulation in the south of Java Island," he said.

This condition, continued Faiz, affects the increase in wind speed in West Java, including the Cirebon area.

Based on observations from the BMKG Kertajati Meteorological Station, the wind direction is generally from the northwest with a potential maximum speed of 56 km per hour.
