Cooperating With ITB, DKI Allocates IDR 197.21 Billion To Make A Garbage Filter In The River

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has budgeted IDR 197.21 billion for the waste filter construction program in the 2022 budget year. Currently, the program is in the process of procuring a tender.

The garbage filter to be built serves to contain and filter waste that comes from upstream or the buffer zone of Jakarta, to reduce the pile of garbage in the capital city.

As seen in the General Procurement Plan Information System (SIRUP) of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP), this project is managed by the Jakarta Water Agency Sanitation Implementing Unit.

When confirmed, the Public Relations of the DKI Environmental Agency, Yogi Ikhwan, confirmed the procurement of the budget for filtering the waste flowing from upstream.

Yogi does not deny that this budget is quite expensive. This is because DKI has to build a river first to accommodate the filtered waste.

"You have to make a carrying river on its side to accommodate the garbage, so it doesn't block the flow of the Ciliwung River. So, it's a bit expensive, right", Yogi said in a short message on Wednesday, January 12.

Yogi explained that the planning for the construction of a garbage filter in the river is in collaboration with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and is carried out by a contractor as a third party through an auction process.

In addition, this hundred of billions of waste filters has also received a technical recommendation (Rekomtek) from the Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Agency (BBWSCC) of the Ministry of PUPR.

"This is the result of a Rekomtek from Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Center (BBWSCC), the agency authorized to provide Rekomtek on the development or work carried out along the Ciliwung-Ciiadane river", explained Yogi.
