Bogor Regency Government Issues Omicron Alert Circular

BOGOR - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Bogor, West Java, has issued a circular regarding the COVID-19 alert for the Omicron variant whose transmission has begun to be detected in its territory.

"I also ask the media to intensively socialize the dangers of Omicron. Child vaccinations will continue to be carried out considering that there is one resident of the Dramaga Subdistrict who has been confirmed as Omicron. Hopefully, only one will not increase," said the Secretary of the Bogor Regency, Burhanudin after reviewing the vaccination of children at SDIT Al-Madinah, Cibinong, Bogor, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.

The daily chairman of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force stated that circulars were copied to the task force at the regional level, starting from the sub-district to the village.

Burhan said that the Bogor Regency Task Force had been ordered directly by President Joko Widodo to prepare all equipment in anticipation of the third wave of COVID-19 transmission.

"We, the Regency COVID-19 Task Force, have been ordered directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia to prepare equipment, starting from the treatment room, we will prepare the isolation area again just in case," said Burhan.

"We will continue to collaborate with Forkopimda because it will not work if it is not carried out together," he added.

Previously, the Commander of Korem (Danrem) 061/Suryakancana, Brigadier General Ahmad Fauzi, revealed that there was a case of the first Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Bogor Regency, West Java, namely residents from the District Dramaga.

"We inform you that there is one infected (Omicron) in Dramaga," he said after reviewing the implementation of child vaccination at SDIT Al-Madinah, Cibinong, Bogor, Tuesday.

According to him, the resident who was exposed to Omicron was a 28-year-old man. He stated that the young man had been confirmed positive since January 6, 2022, and is currently undergoing treatment in Jakarta.

He mentioned that the local COVID-19 Handling Task Force had traced the person concerned, thus finding as many as 10 people who were in close contact.

"Based on the results of the check, out of 10 people who had close contacts, they were declared negative. So we are focusing on that one person," said Brigadier General Fauzi.
