Four Members Of The Police Suspected Of Abusing Detainees Handed Over To The NTT Police Propam

KUPANG - West Sumba Police Chief, AKBP FX Irwan Arianto, said four members of the Katikutana Police who were suspected of abusing AA detainees who died in the cell had been handed over to the NTT The Police's Professional and Security Division.

"They have been handed over to the NTT Police's Professional and Security Division for further handling", he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.

AKBP Irwan explained that the four people who were handed over to the NTT The Police's Professional and Security Division were indeed the people who picked up AA at his uncle's house.

According to the confession of the four police officers, they hit the victim in the leg but did not shoot, as stated by several parties through social media.

"They will be dealt with by the police's professional code of ethics", continued AKBP Irwan.

According to him, a total of six personnel were examined. Two of them are those who carry out picket on December 8 and 9.

The two picket personnel will also be subject to strict sanctions for being negligent in their duties, meaning they are not carrying out their duties properly.

This case came to the attention of the previous NTT Police Chief Inspector, General Lotharia Latif, before his move to Maluku. The Police Chief immediately dismissed several policemen who were involved in the persecution.

"The four members who were indicated to be handling the case, have now been removed and I have secured them for examination at the West Sumba Police", he said.

Inspector General Lotharia Latif said he would not tolerate any member of the National Police who was rude to the public, let alone to the point of death.
