Artist Ivanka Suwandi Suspected Of Being A Victim Of Property Fraud In Bali, Police Explain Chronology

DENPASAR - The soap opera artist Ivanka Suwandi (52) is suspected of being a victim of property sale and purchase fraud. The Bali Police are currently investigating the alleged fraud case.

Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Bali Police, AKBP I Made Witaya, said that his party had received a report on the case. Initially, in February 1996, Ivanka bought a building in Kampial, Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali.

"With an area of 137 m2 with a price of IDR 38,600,000 in installments and has been paid in full", said AKBP Witaya in a written statement, Monday, January 10.

Then in February 1998, the key was handed over by the Director of PT. Bali Lysta Karya Utama to the location of the building. The building was occupied by the family of the victim Ivanka for approximately six months.

However, in 2018 Ivanka discovered her building had been occupied by someone else. Ivanka then reported to the Bali Police in February 2019.

"That the development of the case is being handled and currently being examined regarding witnesses, confiscation of documents against the case", said AKBP Witaya.

"We have examined witnesses, confiscated documents and the case has reached the fingerprinting stage, while we are also examining witnesses from the National Land Agency, a notary related to the transfer of rights and the deed of sale and purchase", he explained.

AKBP Witaya said, during the investigation process, it was strongly suspected that the building had been traded and while his party was still investigating the connection with the transition process from the building.

"From the results of this temporary investigation, it has indeed been sold, while we are still investigating the transfer process, both at the notary and BPN (National Land Agency)", he said.

Meanwhile, the reported party was asked for information on February 7, 2020. However, because the reported person was sick, the information from the reported party could not be completed.

"Currently, the reported party has also been asked for information regarding the case. However, because the reported party is still seriously ill (diabetes), and the reported party explained that he did not make and sign the AJB (Deed of Sale and Purchase)", said AKBP Witaya.
