Gibran Speeds Up COVID Vaccine For Children, Prepares Full Face-to-Face Learning Mechanism

SOLO - The Solo City Government has prepared a face-to-face learning mechanism (PTM) in full by accelerating vaccination for groups of children aged 6-11 years.

"For January PTM, it is still the same SOP, we will continue to pursue vaccinations. We will see first (the possibility of full PTM)," said Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, Central Java, as quoted by Antara, Friday, December 31.

Gibran said that as of Thursday, December 30, the vaccination achievement for the age group was 29,000 children from the initial target of 57,000 children.

"I'm sure parents agree that all PTMs are full, later in stages, we'll see," he said.

However, his party will continue to take mitigation steps, one of which is through surveillance or PTM observation with a swab test which is followed by teachers and students.

"We did a trial (trial) first, there was surveillance if a cluster appeared we closed again (schools). That's all," he said.

Gibran said that later if there was permission from the relevant ministry to organize a full PTM, the City Government would immediately do it.

"If we get permission from the ministry, we are ready. Preparedness in schools is also quite good. Vaccinations continue to be carried out, the target is still the same as yesterday. So far it has been good," he said.
