128 Candidates For Supreme Court Justices Passed Administrative Selection

JAKARTA - A total of 128 candidates for Supreme Court justices (CHA) and 46 candidates for ad hoc judges for corruption crimes (tipikor) at the Supreme Court (MA) passed the administrative selection organized by the Judicial Commission (KY).

"For prospective judges whose files are incomplete and do not meet the requirements, they are declared not to have passed the selection," said Head of Judge Recruitment Sector KY Siti Nurdjanah, in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 29.

Since registration was opened on Monday, November 22 to Friday, December 10 and was extended to Wednesday, December 22, KY has accepted 136 CHAs and 57 candidates for ad hoc corruption judges in the Supreme Court.

After that, based on the plenary meeting of KY members on Tuesday (28/12), KY stated that 128 people passed the CHA selection administration and 46 candidates for ad hoc corruption judges in the MA environment.

In more detail, of the 128 people who passed the administrative selection, there were 100 from the career path and 28 from the non-career path. Then, based on the selected room, there were 25 people who chose the civil room, 53 chose the criminal room, eight people chose the special tax administration room, and 42 people chose the religious room.

He continued, based on the education of the prospective judges, 74 people held master's degrees and 54 people held doctoral degrees. The CHAs were dominated by men as many as 108 people and 20 women.

Finally, based on professions, it is known that 100 candidates work as judges, 12 as academics, four lawyers, one prosecutor, two notaries, and nine other professions.

For ad hoc judges for corruption in the Supreme Court, of the 46 participants who were declared to have passed the administrative selection, there were 39 men and seven women. Five of the registrants are undergraduates, 23 have master's degrees, and 18 have doctorates. After being declared to have passed the administration, the candidates will undergo a quality selection on January 10 to 12, 2022 at Balitbangdiklatkumdil MA Bogor Regency.

Quality selection materials include writing papers on the spot, legal case studies, case studies of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for Judges (KEPPH) as well as objective tests.

CHAs who take part in the quality selection are required to submit professional works in the form of soft copies in Portable Document Format (PDF) and letters of recommendation

Finally, the selection made by KY to find eight CHA positions needed by the MA. The details are, one person for the civil chamber, four people in the criminal chamber, one person for the religious chamber, and two for the special tax administration chamber. In addition to the CHA, three people are also needed for ad hoc corruption judges in the Supreme Court.
