JATENG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo wants the COVID-19 vaccination program to reach children who are not in school, including street children in all districts/cities in the Central Java region.

"I entrust it, because the understanding of children is not only those who go to school, but children who are also not in school, including street children, so we ask friends who have concern for them, gather them Let us come to give the injection later," said Ganjar after reviewing the implementation of vaccination for children in Boyolali Regency, Antara, Wednesday, December 29.

Ganjar said the pick-up ball strategy could be applied to provide COVID-19 vaccination services to children who are not in school, such as street children. In addition, he continued, vaccination service cars could be deployed to support the implementation of vaccination services for street children.

"We have five vaccine cars, which can be used for this. In addition, there are communities of street children, so we will invite them to participate later. These community groups are cool, those who have been accompanying them know their psychology, and we stay prepare the vaccination," he said.

Ganjar said that vaccination services for children aged six to 11 years are still ongoing in Central Java. According to him, the government is trying to accelerate the implementation of vaccinations for children aged six to 11 years by providing vaccination services in schools.

"That's the fastest way and relatively the children are also happy to welcome the vaccine situation together with their friends and hopefully the achievement will be faster," he said.

While reviewing the vaccination implementation in Pekalongan City on December 20, 2021, the Governor said that the number of children aged six to 11 years who were targeted for COVID-19 vaccination in Central Java Province was around two million.
