JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD (Regional House of Representatives), Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, still suspects that several loans from Bank DKI to PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol will be used to organize Formula E, although this has previously been denied.

This was disclosed by Prasetyo in a meeting of Commission B of the DKI DPRD which summoned the board of directors of Ancol and Bank DKI.

In this case, Bank DKI distributed loans to Ancol amounting to IDR 1.2 billion. Of the total loan, a total of IDR 334 billion will be used for the maintenance and construction of facilities and infrastructure in East Ancol.

"Too many public funds have been used for formula E. Funds from PT Jakpro, Youth and Sports Office, and now it's the turn of Bank DKI's loan to Ancol. We're not stupid, really. The revitalization of the east side of Ancol gate is the same as the location where it was built the Formula E circuit", said Prasetyo at the DKI DPRD Building, Tuesday, December 28.

The Coordinator of Commission B of the DKI DPRD considers that it is too coincidental if the distribution of credit between DKI Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) is carried out two days before the determination of the location of the Formula E circuit in Ancol.

"Bank DKI disbursed IDR 1.2 trillion in credit to Ancol. The loan was signed on December 20, 2021. Two days later, on December 22, 2021, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officially announced Ancol as the location for the Formula E event. Why are there too many coincidences about the Bank's financial loan problems? DKI to Ancol?", said Prasetyo.

Prasetyo emphasized that he is not against the implementation of Formula E if it is done without harming the community. However, he will not accept it if public funds such as loans from BUMD (Regionally-Owned Enterprises) are properly used for Formula E.

Moreover, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, has promised that the implementation of Formula E will no longer use the APBD (Regional Budget) after a budget of IDR 560 billion has been disbursed for payment of the commitment fee.

"I'm uncomfortable with this, sir. I'm not against Formula E. Let's review it again. We are in a financial deficit. Indeed, everyone knows that in 2020-2021 we are in a deficit", he said.
