SIDOARJO - Police officers from Sidoarjo, East Java, continue to actively implement vaccinations for children aged 6-11 years even though the school is entering the holiday season.

Sidoarjo Police Chief Grand Commissioner Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro in Sidoarjo, Monday, December 27, said that despite school holidays, vaccinations for children are still carried out so that they are immune to the threat of the corona virus or COVID-19.

"The target for vaccination of children aged six to 11 years is 182,000 children in Sidoarjo Regency. Until now, only about five thousand more children have been vaccinated," he said at the Bharadaksa Building, Mapolresta Sidoarjo.

He added that around 100 doses of vaccination for children from TK Kemala Bhayangkari 83 and 99 Sidoarjo, as well as the surrounding community were provided.

The Sidoarjo Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Pol. Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, and the Head of the Kemala Bhayangkari Management, Sidoarjo City Branch, Maya Kusumo, were also present at the vaccination location.

"Therefore, even though we are currently on school holidays, we continue to make massive efforts to accelerate child vaccination, it is also hoped that parents will play a role and support their children to be vaccinated. So that our children can avoid the spread of COVID-19, by establishing communal immunity in children," he said.

Vaccinations for children from Kemala Bhayangkari Kindergarten 83 and 99 were held with great joy and implemented strict health protocols. Previously, students were screened.

The Management of Kemala Bhayangkari Sidoarjo City Branch Maya Kusumo appealed to the teacher councils of each school, parents and students to support the success of the vaccination program as an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19.
