JAKARTA - In the context of the Lilin Maung operation in 2021 and to coincide with Christmas Eve, the Banten Police deployed personnel from the Banten Police Satbrimob and the Banten Police Ditsamapta K9 Unit to carry out sterilization at the HKBP Church in Serang City.

In addition to carrying out sterilization, the Banten Police also carried out checks related to the implementation of health protocols.

"We see that the capacity in this church is provided with 900 seats, this capacity is in accordance with 75 percent. From the results of the sterilization, no suspicious objects were found, as well as sensing from K9 did not find anything suspicious," he explained.

Then Shinto hopes that the Christmas Eve Service will run smoothly.

"Implementing the health protocol carried out by the COVID-19 Task Force from the HKBP Church, we are optimistic that the implementation of today's Christmas Eve Service can take place well in this church and other churches in the Banten Police area," hoped Shinto.

Meanwhile, the HKBP church pastor, Benny Siagian, who is also the coordinator of the HKBP Church's COVID-19 Task Force, said church congregations would be adjusted to 50 percent of the total number.

"To avoid unwanted things, the church will only accommodate 50 percent of the congregation," said Benny.

Benny further explained that only congregants who have a worship card can participate in worship directly at the church.

"We from the Church also provide live streaming services for congregants who cannot attend worship directly at the church. So that the congregation can see directly through electronic media in their respective homes," explained Benny.

The Banten Police Satbrimob deployed 40 personnel from the Gegana Detachment Jibom Unit which was divided into 5 teams to carry out church sterilization in the Banten Police jurisdiction. Then from the Ditsamapta, the Banten Police also dispatched the K9 Unit to assist in the sterilization process of the Church.
