Bareskrim Foils The Smuggling Of Hundreds Of Kilograms Of Methamphetamine And Ecstasy Targeting Nightclubs

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Drug Crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit revealed the circulation of 222 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 200,000 pills of ecstasy and 4,750 pills of happy five. The drugs are planned to be circulated in nightclubs during the New Year.

"We suspect this will be circulated in big cities in Indonesia, where nightclubs are held in the context of Christmas and New Year celebrations," said Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police, Brigadier General Krisno Siregar, to reporters on Thursday, December 23.

In this case, three people were identified as suspects with the initials HB (26), FR (40), SJ (48). They are an Indonesia-Malaysia network with different roles.

"The disclosure of this case is in collaboration with the Directorate of Drug Research and the Aceh Police and Customs and Excise," said Krisno.

Disclosure of this case began on December 16, 2021. Where, the police received information about drug shipments in the Simpang Ulim Coastal waters of East Aceh.

So, the team did an in-depth investigation. Then, suspect one of the ships that was picking up drugs in Malaysian waters.

"Finally arrested two suspects HB and FR. Then both of them were interrogated which finally managed to catch SJ," said Krisno.

Suspect SJ played a role in ordering the other two suspects to pick up the illicit goods into Malaysian waters. He was arrested in front of the Putri Kembar Mini Market, Jalan Medan-Banda Aceh, No. 5, Matong Glumpong Dua, Peusangan District, Bireuen, on 17 December.

From the arrest, the team developed and finally searched SJ's house in Jangka Keutapang Village, Jangka District, Biruen. The result, found a bag of methamphetamine weighing 12 kilograms.

"From the results of the interrogation of suspect SJ, it was obtained information that he was controlled by SF alias HT (DPO) in Malaysia," said Krisno.

Currently, the suspects have been detained. They were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a death penalty or life imprisonment and a maximum fine of Rp. 10 billion.

Meanwhile, the subsidiary article imposed is Article 112 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 (1) of RI Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. the threat of capital punishment, life imprisonment and a maximum fine of IDR 8 billion.
