Denjaka Practices Disabling Terror Actions On Matak Island, Riau Islands

JAKARTA - The Jalamangkara Detachment (Denjaka) carried out the 2021 Denjaka Counter-Terrorist Exercise Scenario at the SKK Migas Jetty Port on Matak Island, Riau Islands, with the scenario of a group of SKK Migas' employees being held hostage by a terrorist group.

Efforts to paralyze terrorist groups and rescue hostages were carried out by the Rubber Duck element which completed the target at the oil refinery, the Free Fall element completed the Air Traffic Control (ATC) target, while the Sea Rider Element, Fast Rope Element, and EOD element completed the target at the Jetty Office Port Building.

Even in rainy weather and uncertain natural conditions, Denjaka's troops were able to face all terrain and weather and succeeded in immobilizing the terrorists and freeing the hostages.

The Commander of the Marine Corps Major General TNI Mar Suhartono directly observed the Special Situation Exercise (Latkasus) by the Special Forces of the Indonesian Navy Denjaka at the vital object of the MKK Migas Jetty Port in Payalaman, Pal Matak, Anambas Islands Regency, Riau Islands.

"I feel proud and appreciative of you, that you are still able to carry out training scenarios even though the weather is not favorable, this will be a very valuable experience in carrying out future tasks, continue to maintain your professionalism as special forces," said Mar Suhartono, as quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 19.
