PKS Asks Government To Make Serious Policy To Prevent Omicron

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the DPR RI from the PKS faction, Alifudin, asked the government to be serious in making special policies following the entry of the Omicron variant into Indonesia.

The government, he said, should take this as a common lesson about early detection in every arrival of citizens from abroad.

"The government must make special policies that are stricter on foreigners or Indonesian citizens coming in and out of foreign countries and make scientific policies on health so that people are calmer," said Ali to reporters, Friday, December 17.

He was worried that the public would suspect that a quarantine mafia might exist in this case. Therefore, the government must immediately take firm action.

"Patients who were detected with the Omicron virus at Wisma Atlet, so that the government forms a special team to find the path of the cause from where this virus could enter Indonesia," said Alifudin.

Alifudin, who is also the Chairman of BPW Kalimantan DPP PKS, said that the proof of each case must use a health science approach, not economics or anything else. Moreover, he said, the government in making policies is sometimes unstable. Therefore, it must also use a scientific approach

The government, he added, must also immediately accelerate areas that have not yet met the vaccine target. Even people who have not had the first vaccine yet, immediately open places or health facilities in the area for vaccines, to make it easier for people to take part in the first and second stages of the vaccine.

"My last message is that people remain calm but remain vigilant, especially those who have already vaccinated, keep the health protocols wherever our activities are," concluded Alifudin.
