The Committee Prepared A Strategy So That The 34th NU Congress In Lampung Does Not Create Clusters

JAKARTA - The committee for the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress emphasized the application of health protocols (prokes) throughout the event and preparing mitigation strategies to health handling related to COVID-19.

The Coordinator of the Health Section of the NU 34th Congressional Committee, Dr. Ahmad Fariz M Zamzam Zein, explained that the first step to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the conference arena was to register participants online.

"We use this technological facility as a measure to avoid crowds," said Ahmad Fariz at the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Building on Jalan Kramat Raya Number 164, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 16.

In the online form, prospective participants will fill in personal data, disease history, drugs used, vaccinations, to questions about their respective health insurance data.

Before entering the arena, participants will only take a participant identification card at the designated registration area. In that place, he also made sure to use a one-way entry and one-way exit system.

Prospective participants are also required to follow the rules set by the government, which are already vaccinated and tested negative for COVID-19 based on the results of an antigen swab test that is valid for 1 x 24 hours or a PCR swab test that is valid for 3 x 24 hours.

Ahmad Fariz reminded participants to prepare themselves for vaccination and antigen swab test or PCR swab test before traveling to the congress.

Furthermore, the Deputy Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Health Institute also emphasized that the places used for the congress agenda had met health standards, ranging from adequate ventilation to only 50 percent to 70 percent of the room's capacity.

The committee provides 60 medical students who are members of the Nahdlatul Ulama Medical Student Association as health promotion ambassadors who are placed in all locations.

They will be tasked with reminding participants and the public to continue implementing the health procedures, namely using masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer during the activity.

In addition, he also ensured that there were 120 health workers on guard during the holding of the 34th NU Congress. This number has not been added to the health workers from the regions.

He ensured that at each location there were health posts ready to carry out health checks and also conveyed that the committee provided a call center and telemedicine for consultation purposes.

"We hope that there are no (people who experience health problems). But even if there are those who are well affected, from self-isolation places to hospitals, we have prepared them," he said as quoted by Antara.

The committee also prepared quarantine facilities for representatives of the Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch Management who came from abroad.

He expressed his gratitude to the provincial government of Lampung and the regional governments of Bandar Lampung and Central Lampung who have participated in helping to make the event run smoothly and safely and healthily.

"We are grateful to government stakeholders who are the venue for the congress. We get full support because it has been prepared from A to Z," he said.
