Today, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Will Visit Mount Semeru Disaster Refugees

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will make a working visit to refugees from the Mount Semeru hot cloud disaster at the Command Post in Penanggal Village, Lumajang Regency, East Java, Thursday.

"Yes, it's true today there was a visit from Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Lumajang," said Deputy Regent of Lumajang Indah Amperawati in a short message received by Antara, Thursday, December 16.

The schedule of work visits received by Antara, the Vice President, and his wife and entourage using a special presidential aircraft Boeing 737-400 TNI AU to take off to Juanda International Airport in Surabaya.

At Juanda Airport, the Vice President's entourage will be welcomed by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa and members of the local Regional Leadership Coordination Forum in the main waiting room of the airport.

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by Governor Khofifah with a limited entourage will take a helicopter to the Refugee Post in Penanggal Village, Candipuro District to see the condition of the refugees from the Mount Semeru disaster.

The Vice President's entourage is also scheduled to visit the Indonesian Sharia Bank Command Post in Penanggal Village, Candipuro District, then a limited group will visit Kampung Renteng Hamlet, Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District.

Based on temporary data from the Lumajang BPBD on Wednesday, December 15, the incident of hot clouds falling from Mount Semeru has caused 48 deaths, 18 seriously injured, and 9 minor injuries.

The number of displaced residents was 10,158 people with the number of evacuation points spread over 151 points in Lumajang Regency, both independent refugee posts and posts provided by the local government.
