Children Age Of 6-11 Years In Depok Started Their First Vaccination, Here Are The Locations

JAKARTA - The Depok City Government (Pemkot) through the Health Service (Dinkes) will start giving COVID-19 vaccinations to children aged 6-11 years. This first vaccination will start at SDN Depok 1, Pancoran Mas.

Head of the Depok City Health Office, Mary Liziawati said, the provision of COVID-19 vaccination for ages 6-11 years was in accordance with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021. Namely regarding the Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 at Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022.

"The city of Depok is one of the kickoffs for the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination at the age of 6-11 years, according to the minister's instructions, which will start on December 14 tomorrow (today)," said Mary, quoted from the official website of the Depok City Government, Monday, December 13.

According to Mary, the type of vaccination used is the Sinovac brand. The vaccination will be given to all children aged 6 to 11 years in Depok City.

Mary added, for the first implementation tomorrow at SDN Depok 1, vaccinations will be given to grade III, IV, and VI children. Meanwhile, students in grades I, II, and V will follow because they have just implemented the School Children's Immunization Month (BIAS).

"Our target tomorrow is that all students in grades III, IV, and VI do not carry out BIAS. Hopefully, it will run smoothly," she concluded.

The technical implementation of COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years will be the same as for adolescents aged 12-17 years. The chairman of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI), Piprim Basarah Yanuarso, said the implementation could be held at health centers and schools as well.

IDAI is determined to assist the Indonesian Ministry of Health in vaccinating children aged 6011 years, totaling 26.8 million people. Apart from that, they are making better technical implementations.

“We are currently making technical guidelines (technical implementation) related to screening, such as blood pressure and others. We will issue recommendations for field screening,” he continued.

IDAI ensures the vaccination will be spread throughout the area to complete the process. This activity will be carried out in stages with the criteria for vaccination of dose 1 above 70 percent and vaccination coverage for the elderly above 60 percent.

There are at least 106 cities/regencies from 11 provinces that meet the criteria, including West Java, Banten, DI Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, East Java, Central Java, East Kalimantan, and others.
