Kemendikbudristek Prepares 10,000 Students To Become Researchers In 2022

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Higher Education and Research Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) has prepared 10,000 students to become researchers at research centers under the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN).

"A number of steps have been taken to strengthen research, including utilizing the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program to strengthen research and utilizing research as a research step in developing villages," said Acting Director-General of Diktiristek Kemendikbudristek, Prof. Nizam, at the launch of the Research and Community Service Guide. The 2022 community is being monitored in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, December 13. The target is that by 2022 there will be 10,000 students who will become researchers, in collaboration with BRIN. They will research existing research centers.

He added that his party was harmonizing future innovation talents through MBKM. Students can become research assistants and are later converted to credits in higher education. The existing research infrastructure in the country is also open for universities to conduct research.

"The laboratories, equipment, and research facilities at LIPI, Puspiptek, BPPT, and so on are open for universities to conduct research," he explained.

Another step to strengthen research is through the Master's Education program towards a Doctorate for Superior Bachelors (PMDSU). The program is an accelerated doctoral program in the country. Through this program, it is hoped that a number of researches that will benefit the community will be born.

Furthermore, encouraging masters and doctorates through research. To prepare young researchers, they can cooperate with superior universities.

The Ministry of Education and Culture also has postdoctoral programs both abroad and domestically, as well as professionals from industry to be able to provide assistance and partner with universities.

“There is also the World Class Professor program (WCP), where this year we accept around 70 to 100 professors. Thus, it is hoped that the quality of research and publications in the community," he added.

Nizam added that the ministry is also building innovation in the community through a matching fund program, including through Kedai Reka. It is hoped that the results of research in universities can be a spring that can benefit the people of the nation and state.
