JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo brings good news. He said, investment outside Java in 2021 will show a higher figure than Java.

"We should be grateful that this year's investment figures outside Java are increasing and higher than in Java," said President Jokowi in Sintang, West Kalimantan, Wednesday, December 8.

President Jokowi conveyed this when he inaugurated Tebilian Airport in Sintang district, which has a passenger terminal covering an area of 2.000 square meters capable of serving 75.000 passengers per year.

"And this increase in investment outside Java cannot be separated from our efforts to prepare infrastructure evenly throughout the country," the President said as quoted by Antara.

President Jokowi said that the government is building infrastructure not only centered in Java (Java-centric) but is starting to spread throughout Indonesia.

"Because we believe that areas outside Java can grow rapidly if supported by adequate infrastructure and transportation so that production will increase, distribution will be smooth, reaching a bigger and wider market," added the President.

Another benefit of infrastructure, according to President Jokowi, is to reduce time and costs so that Indonesia's logistics costs are more efficient and more competitive.

The Ministry of Investment / Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) reported that the realization of incoming investment during the third quarter of 2021 outside Java reached IDR 112.5 trillion (51.9 percent) while the realization of investment in Java reached IDR 104.2 trillion (48.1 percent). ).

Meanwhile, cumulatively, during January-September 2021, the realization of investment in Java grew 3.7 percent, while outside Java the growth shot up to 12 percent.

In nominal terms, investment in Java during January-September 2021 is IDR 318.7 trillion (48.3 percent) and investment outside Java is IDR 340.7 trillion (51.7 percent).
