Involved In Abusing Detainees To Death, Police Officers At The Bener Meriah Aceh Police Station Examined By Propam

ACEH - The Aceh Police through the Profession and Security Division (Propam) detained a police officer suspected of molesting a Bener Meriah Police detainee. The victim of the assault died.

The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Winardy, said that the police officer served at the Bener Meriah Police. Detention of police officers to facilitate further investigation.

"Currently, the Aceh Police Propam has detained an individual from the Bener Meriah Police for further investigation. Then, the removal of the position is followed up so that they can be investigated intensively at the Aceh Police," said Winardy in Banda Aceh, Antara, Monday, December 6.

According to Winardy, the Aceh Police are serious in handling every violation, whether criminal or not, committed by police officers. Those found guilty will be given strict sanctions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Winardy said the Bener Meriah Police Chief AKBP Agung Surya accompanied by a number of personnel had visited the house of the late S alias F in Alue Jamok Village, Baktya District, North Aceh Regency.

On that occasion, the Bener Meriah Police Chief apologized for the actions of an individual member of the Bener Meriah Police who allegedly molested S alias F.

"The police chief guarantees that the person is legally processed. The police chief also stated that he would carry out close and tiered surveillance, so that such incidents do not happen again," said Winardy.

Previously, the prisoner of the Bener Meriah Police with the initials S alias F died, allegedly because he was abused by police officers. Before he died, S alias F was taken to the Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Banda Aceh.
