Palace: Prabowo Participates In Free Nutrition Food Funds In Kendari

JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Communication Office Hasan Nasbi confirmed that there are still several points for the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program which still uses personal funds from President Prabowo Subianto.

According to him, this happened because there were still areas that had the rest of the budget last year when this program was being tested, for example, the city of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

"What is in Kendari is that he still has the remaining trial budget from the one given by Pak Prabowo before. So they still use the funds," Hasan Nasbi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 6.

Even so, Hasan ensured that after the remaining budget was exhausted, the implementation of the MBG program in these areas would consistently use funds from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). The budget in question refers to the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) budget of IDR 71 trillion for the implementation of the MBG program in 2025.

"Yes, after that, they will use those from the state budget from BGN," Hasan said.

MBG, which is a priority program for the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was officially implemented today in schools and posyandu in 26 provinces in Indonesia.

There are around 190 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG Kitchens that operate to provide nutritious food for school children and pregnant women starting today.

The MBG kitchens are spread across 26 provinces, namely Aceh, Bali, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Gorontalo.

Then, there are also MBG kitchens in West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, and South Papua.

MBG kitchen operations are led by a head of the SPPG who was appointed directly by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

The Head of SPPG is working with a nutritionist and an accountant to ensure the smooth distribution of food and closely monitor the quality of food and nutritional standards distributed to children and pregnant women.
