The statement was in response to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who asked the Police to remain firm and authoritative. Because many Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) or Resort Police Chief (Kapolres) come to elders of community organizations who often make a fuss.

"The point is not to hesitate in carrying out law enforcement professionally and proportionally", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, when confirmed, Friday, December 3.

In fact, said Dedi, all ranks have been asked to maintain the authority of the Polri institution. Moreover, they will not go to organizations that often act up.

"The National Police still have to maintain the dignity of the organization and do not hesitate to carry out law enforcement", said Dedi.
